Alumni Field
The Southwest Minnesota State baseball complex on the north end of campus has become one of the top college playing fields in the upper Midwest.
Over the last several years, Alumni Field has seen numerous changes and continues to make changes every season. In the last several years, two hitting cages have been added, as well as new sod in the infield, an irrigation system, new backstop, new scoreboard, grandstand and a hitter’s eye in centerfield.
The improved Southwest Minnesota State baseball complex gives SMSU players some of the best facilities in the region.
SMSU is 84-55 at Alumni Field since head coach Paul Blanchard took over in 1997. SMSU started playing all of its home games at on-campus ballpark in 2003 and is 75-54 since that time. SMSU has played four games (going 2-2) at Legion Field in Marshall since 2003, playing two each in 2009 and 2010.
